The Moose had a busy day browsing the hayflats. We've seen more and more of them these last few weeks. It's that time of year when they are getting a little more hungry as their winter store of fat is beginning to run out. So they spend more time during the daylight out in the open eating on whatever they can find. This time of year, and the rut in September, is when you'll see them up close more often than the rest of the year. They don't even flinch when the occasional snowmachine or two passes by.
Dino spent the week tearing up his dog house, so we had to spend a day searching around Anchorage for one that was a little sturdier. Hopefully it will last longer. We also got him another Dino-sized bone to keep him occupied.
