Spring Cleaning

My spring cleaning crew started out strong cleaning the garage, then he evidently put down the broom and took a nap (using the dog as a pillow). Summer must be approaching.

Eventually, we made some progress on cleaning up the the winter gravel, grit and dirt piles that accumulate each winter on the garage floor from snow melting off the cars.

Heidi is an outdoor cat now, and we figured she needed a 'cat house', but....

....she ignores the cat house and just sleeps with Dino.

I legitimately believe she thinks she's a dog. She comes when you call her name, follows you around the yard, and fetches. It's also fairly easy to get her to speak and roll over - sometimes. She actually acts more like a dog than Dino does at times.

The hay flats haven't started to green up yet, but the warmer weather makes for some nice evenings listening to the thousands of birds nesting in the wetlands.

Our version of "casting shade over an empty chair", Alaskan style.

Here, I'm taking a picture of Jolene taking a picture with Grayson in the background taking a picture of the chairs I posted above while laying prone on the lawn.  Isn't that some kind of Guiness record?

Grayson capturing a picture of an eagle atop a spruce.

The road less traveled passes beneath "strong-arm tree".

The pond I pass by on my walk each evening....a more peaceful place to sit and think you will not find.

The creek is flowing strongly. Another two months and salmon will be climbing these falls.

The proud papa (top) and momma (bottom), taken on different days as each was taking a break while the other sits on the eggs. Haven't seen any hatch-lings yet.

A moose browses just off the trail on my evening hike. Grayson has another post queued up, he'll post it soon.
