April and May

April and May brought an early thaw, and lots of rain. At a time when we're normally still in parkas, the boys took advantage of the warm weather to fly the drone from the back deck.

The sun's glow reflects off the Chugach Mountain range from our backyard.

At the end of the school year, Landon was inducted into the National Technical Honor Society.

Our normal view of the hay flats was modified this Spring by the addition of a large lake that formed in view of the house.  Unknown if it was caused by the early thaw, or subsidence from the earthquake, but it seems to be a new permanent fixture and is different than anything we've seen on the hay flats over the last decade.

Spot, the eagle, stopped by to say hi while they were building their nest for the year.

Lazy Spring day for both Dino and Heidi.

Another walk in the woods.

A good friend of our was married at The Bridge restaurant, built over Ship Creek in Anchorage.

Another sign of Spring, a mother black bear taking her cubs out for a walk.
