Today the kids got to enjoy the SeaLife Center and Exit Glacier. No pictures from the SeaLife center. I'll be sure to get some next trip, the boys go through there way too fast for my liking. Remember, my bachelor's degree is biology with an emphasis on marine ecology;). Exit glacier is always a fun little hike. My curious fact for the day: The glacier got it's name because it was the best spot to "exit" the Harding Ice Field. I still want to make it up to the ice field but need to save something for another trip. The viewing area has moved from the last time I was at the glacier two years ago. It's amazing to see the impact of change on such a geologically small time scale. All the kids had a blast throwing rocks into the river and Grayson got quite dusty. We pulled a couple of chunks of ice out of the river too. They got caught in the little dam that Landon was building. After the glacier the kids were napping so we drove out Nash road and then out to Lowell point. Lowell point is another area that is on my list for future exploration. Finally, we ended the day in Seward park, where the little ones and Honey had some fun. The mountain in the background is Mt. Marathon. There is a 5K foot race up and down this mountain on the 4th of July. It is a limited entry race and quite a challenge with grades up to 60%. Most competitors duct tape their shoes on.
