We maintained our July 4th tradition of going to the Wasilla Independence day parade and then up to Independence Mine in Hatcher's Pass. When we arrived at the parade, Grayson asked "Now I get candy?" He was quite disappointed when he got passed over by some of the candy givers. We will make sure he has a bag next year. Small town parades are always very interesting. There was a one year old celebrating his birthday by riding in the parade in his 4 wheeler atop his parents pick up. A young man dressed up as a daisy passing out daisies. How much did his friends pay him to do that? The grandmother's were all given roses. Lots of political signs and statements. Caleb was less than thrilled with the smell of the horses. The fire and rescue squads are always super friendly, yet startled the kiddos with the volume of their horn. Landon's favorite was the National Guard troops and vehicles. Be sure to check out the new jacket that Daddy mailed him. We made sure to point out Sarah Palin's parents and her dog to our out of town guests.
