I'm Happy!

Grayson was sick yesterday with a high fever so I kept him home today. It seems to be manifesting in the other end now, yippee. He definitely feels better although his head must be cold because he kleeps putting one of my hats on. His daddy will be glad to see that it is a pink hat. He keeps asking "Where'd Daddy go? Where'd Landon go?" I used the opportunity to play with my camera and try to get some shots of just Grayson in his favorite jammies. May his true colors shine. He also learned to say "I'm happy" today.
They are also clearing at least one of the lots today. The windows keep rattling and the ground shaking. We will have to go and explore later this afternoon.

A Gorgeous Spring day!

(Edit: might not fit the spring day theme, but wanted to add the slide sent from a friend about the pirate takedown - Aaarrgggghhh!)

Today was a beautiful day so with new camera and lens in hand the boys and I headed to our backyard to relax. We passed up our normal pizza plan because no one wanted to leave the house to pick up pizza. We are too blessed with sunshine. By the way the sun is completely up by the time we leave in the morning. We love it! The big pile of sticks in the tree is an eagle's nest just down the street from our house. There are actually two nests this year!

Happy Easter!!!

The boys were up earlier than Christmas this morning to tell us that the Easter bunny had stopped by for a visit and left eggs all over the house. They got dressed for church and then had fun searching for eggs. Grayson was very excited about the "Crackies" ie goldfish crackers in his basket while Landon was excited to collect the hidden eggs.
The moose seem to be making a pigrimage by our house everyday. The boys saw a total of 18 yesterday morning and we have already seen six total this morning. It has now begun to snow! It is right at 30 degrees so we will see how long it lasts! Have a blessed Easter!

Moose Convoy

Woke up Saturday morning to a moose convoy crossing the hayflats. Slow day spent working around the house while Jolene took a wildlife course in Eagle River. Landon helped me clean the outside of the windows (takes a while on this house). Then we realized as we sat and watched a movie in the evening that we were sitting the same way with the same color warm-ups and socks on - thought it made a good picture. The last two are of someone's funny dog in Homer wearing a mask for protection from the ashfall and a picture of one of the latest eruptions taken from the Kenai peninsula from the local news website. No more ashfall here since last week. The weather has warmed up, all our snow is melting and it's starting to feel like spring. We saw a high of 46 today, and we're getting ready for the summer trips.

Long Winter for the Twins

I think these are photos of the twin moose calves that were born around Memorial Day last spring. They were with a much larger moose that was laying down nearby. It looks like they are ready for winter to be over (and I don't think they are alone in that!) It has been snowing almost

daily but too warm (30s) to add to our slowly disappearing snowpack.
