Christmas in Texas

The boys and I spent Christmas in Texas this year.  Jolene had to stay back to care for the pets and provide access to the house for the contractors working on our earthquake repairs. Here, Landon and Grayson visit Gramps's paint horse, Dilly, at Chris and Mysti's house.

Adding in Gus the longhorn, and Lady.

Gus, the longhorn.

Warm Christmas in Texas this year, as evidenced by this bull snake who was still out and about (although he was moving very slowly).

Gramps took the boys shooting up at the North Place.

Chris, stripping cotton under the windmills.

Chris running the cotton stripper, and Chase in the module builder.

Grayson also ran the module builder for part of one evening.  Here, Landon is in the cab with him as he packs down the module.

Grayson packed the last (short) module of the season.

Tarping his module.

The main reason for our trip was to visit with Buffy and her family in Abilene. Buffy is valiantly fighting against cancer, and amazes us everyday in her strength and courage. Please keep her and Darren (and Laura and Kate) in your prayers.

Hank the moose visited our Exchange, so I took the opportunity for a ride.

New Year's Day snow shoveling. We had a 6 inch snowfall on New Year's Eve.  Here Grayson runs the snowblower.

Got himself covered pretty good in snow.

Moose on the hay flats.

Moose in the backyard, eating our exposed lawn before the snowfall.

Landon has been staying busy learning some virtual reality games.

Meanwhile, Grayson has enjoyed having his own gaming console.

Maybe we should have named our cat Kilroy ("Kilroy was here").  She stands at the door peering in when she wants in.

But when inside, both her and Dino just want to sleep on Grayson's (unmade) bed.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all, and please keep Buffy in your prayers.
