Halfway Home

From Layne while on deployment:
"Below is a small portion of our halfway video, our way of saying “thanks” to our wives at the halfway point of deployment. Few people realize the sacrifice they make holding down the homefront alone so we can focus on our mission out here on the “tip of the spear”. Sorry the clip is short, but the rest of the video is for their eyes only. You’ll want to turn the volume up. Video shot while on station, somewhere in the Arabian Sea. 3 ½ months down… halfway home! Thank you, Jolene, for all you do. Couldn't do it without you. Love you."

Back Post - November 2010

Here's a quick post of some images way back from Thanksgiving. Layne took the video through his scope with the point and shoot camera. He did a fine job. The moose were out on the flats tonight. The days are longer and we are enjoying the sunshine, well not bright sunshine, but at least it's there!

Happy Easter

I definitely need to do some back blogging. Six months of no posts is unsat. I guess that just tells you how busy things have been. My photography business has taken off and school work keeps me swamped. Layne is busy with his XO tour and we are enjoying the convenience of Skype.
We are looking forward to the warming days and are enjoying the long hours of sunlight, however bright or not bright it is we will take it! We are jealous of all our friends and family who have pictures of lucious green grass.

Yesterday the boys and I colored Easter eggs. I think this was Grayson's first time to ever color eggs. It actually went quite well. Landon is very offended that someone might even THINK about eating his works of art. They are stashed in the back of the fridge. Landon also did a little target practice with his BB gun yesterday with Pappy.

Grammie has prepared a ham and her famous potatoe salad and loaded the house up on chocolate treats.

May God Bless you on this day! He is risen.
