We can't put our carved pumpkins out too early...the moose have a craving for pumpkin this time of year.
So we waited until this week to carve them up.
They each chose a design.
Landon's is a Sea of Thieves theme (a video game), and Grayson took a more traditional theme.
All lit up, ready for Halloween (or moose snack, whichever comes first)!
Jolene and Grayson ran the Frightening 4K this weekend, with a couple of friends, dressed up as the monopoly man and bank robbers.
They had a blast.
The eagles are still hanging around. An extremely warm Fall has delayed their departure Southward. But their chicks have left the nest.
They grow up so fast. Here they are pictured before leaving the nest, back in August.

Our annual irony....after peeking into their nest all Summer to check on their progress, they return the favor in Fall by peeking into our bedroom window.

Dry, dry, dry summer. Clouds of dust everywhere we stepped. Did I mention it was dry this year?

Landon finished off his cross country season.
And we had another few months of bizarre weather...bizarre for Alaska anyway. Thunderstorms and hail, neither are normal weather patterns up here.
Jolene is coaching 7th grade basketball again this year, which means she is coaching Grayson's team.
I got to watch this game. G-man did well, scoring 8 pts, and leading the team in scoring in their win.
Snow is slowly marching down the Chugach Mountains across the flats, but no snow at the house yet this year. Still seeing much warmer than normal temps.
I cleared a large part of the woods next to the house. We'll build some raised beds, and maybe a greenhouse there next year.
The boys built a campfire pit, and inaugurated it with a marshmallow-roast.
Time to prepare for winter here, it's been an unusually warm year (but we didn't mind so much).
