Fishing and Potatoes....

The boys are having a good time with Daddy. Since his arrival home we've only experienced one day of foul weather. Hmmm, maybe he should be home more often. They went fishing on his first Sunday back, and had fun even though the salmon are no longer running. This weekend after the crazy wind storm they harvested our potato patch. Grayson put the potatoes in the bucket while Landon sat in the comfort of our home and played Wii. Our one month of fall weather is now officially over as termination dust (and a lot of it) has appeared on the mountains. I had just commented yesterday how the snow was completely gone from the peaks. I am sure snowy pictures will soon follow.

Back Home Again

Jolene and I spent last week together in Reno for Tailhook (will post those pics when I get back to Lemoore) but I hadn't seen the boys since I drove down to Lemoore last May - over 4 months ago. So I took a couple weeks of leave to come back home to Alaska. Beautiful time of year here in the Valley. Crisp cold air and Fall colors. It's good to be home!

AK State Fair

Finally got the boys out to the AK State Fair. It was 2-1 admissions and "buddy rides free" so the rides were a little crowded when we first arrived. We watched the Birdman from Las Vegas show and ate yummy fried zucchini, fresh fries, chicken and assorted fair food. Landon is getting too big for the kiddy rides but doesn't quite have the courage to ride the big rides. He road the roller coaster by himself, and had the strangest look on his face. He fell in love with the swings though. Grayson is still on the milder rides that basically just go around in a circle. If it has a faux steering wheel, he is happy. It was a blast. I am glad we chose Thursday to go, it was the only night where it didn't rain!
