Independance Mine Road is OPEN!!

During our last trip to Hatcher's the gate stated that the road would open on June 12th, it looks like they decided to open early. The boys enjoyed a nice nap on the way up and then love exploring the mine. The buildings are all closed this year and the weather was a dreary 47 degrees when we arrived. There are still spotty patches of snow, but it looks much different than it did two weeks ago. Landon loves to act like a tour guide and point out all the cool things he finds. Grayson was distraught when we returned to the parking lot and he noticed that pieces of the asphalt were falling off. He really wanted to fix it. He also became concerned on the drive home when we saw a boat. "Boats go in water, not on the road." We are looking forward to many more summer Hatcher's hikes! When we got home the boys decided to have some fun in the driveway. We put the handle back in the tricycle and Grayson was ready to go!
