Reflections Lake...National Trails Day

We had a fun weekend hanging out with our Finley friends again this weekend. We are so blessed by this family that keeps us entertained. We are sad to see them move to the otherside of the butte, but I guess that only means that we will have to gather the gumption to hike Mat. Peak.
We ended another beautiful weekend by taking a drive up to Hatcher's, eating the obligatory 50 cent ice cream cone, and hiking Reflections Lake. The hike around the lake is probably about a mile. It is an extremely easy flat hike with lots of scenery on the trail. The bridge over the slough is finished and it makes a complete circle. Water access is limited due to the amount of lead in the water. The lake was once a gravel pit and in old Alaskan style, that means it was the location of old junked out cars and an unofficial shooting range. It is amazing to see how far this place has come. There were a lot of people out today enjoying their Sunday fun day at the lake. The boys of course couldn't resist the opportunity to throw rocks in the lake and run over the soft trail. Grayson was glad to come back to the Finley house for food and to visit with Stubby, Ms. Diane's dog. The other boys were zonked out and ready to watch a movie. Early to bed tonight for everyone!
Here's a link to information on Reflections Lake and the trail history.
