Iditarod Trail Headquarters

Today we started out with a trip to the Iditarod Trail Headquarters. It was interesting to walk around the museum and see some of the information about the race. The great serum run that stopped the Nome typhoid epidemic in 1925 is only a small part of the history. The National Historic Trail was actually used to take supplies (for goldmining) throughout the state of Alaska. You can see part of the historic trail from our house. The boys (big and little) loved playing with the Iditapups and going for an extremely brief $10 dogsled ride.
