The second aspect of the National Park Tour is a visit to a glacier. The boat claimed to be a third of a mile away from the Aialick glacier. The glacier would calve and about 2-3 seconds later you would hear a crack like thunder. It is something you truely have to see to appeciate. The magnitude of the size of the glacier is really baffling. We definitely recommend the glacier/wildlife cruise as part of your AK touring options!
