Talkeetna Moose Dropping Festival

No, I didn't make this one up. We traveled up to Talkeetna this weekend for the annual moose dropping festival. Talkeetna is a cute little town about an hour North of us. Every year their historical society has a fundraiser by sponsoring this festival. The highlight of the festival is purchasing a $5 piece of laquered moose poop (I'm not kidding) that they drop on a target. Prizes are rewarded for closest to the target, furthest from the target, etc. In addition, local artists decorate 3-D wooden moose that they auction off. They also have the world's shortest parade route. We also enjoyed watching a Scottish bagpipe band play. If curiosity has got you; you can read more about the festival at the following website: www.talkeetnahistoricalsociety.org

We pushed Grayson's birthday cake and opening gifts back a day; he got his shots today and was too groggy to celebrate.
